The Safer Cleaner Planet Series

Upcoming International Events

In order to facilitate greater cooperation for the standardisation and harmonisation of the First To Market “FOAK” Small Modular Reactor “SMR” projects internationally, and in Eastern Europe in particular, Transition2zero hosts Roundtable and Panel Session Days in Priority Nation States, who have demonstrated a clear political will along with the necessary capability and skills to turn theory into concrete reality.

These Transition2Zero Roundtables and Panel Days, often partner with local nuclear experts, leading international nuclear and data/digital practitioners, NGOs, companies and international law firms, where we forge special relationships across continents in order to identify and bring together the key drivers and decision makers dedicated to the safe expansion of SMR projects worldwide.

Guest Speakers and Roundtable Participants include representatives from Three Seas Initiative (3SI) and other jurisdictions Ministers, Government Agencies and Development Programs specifically tasked with SMR and accompanying digital and industrial infrastructure development, FOAK Market Ready vendors, regulators, lawyers, technical experts and financers.

In order to consciously drive forward this new innovative reindustrialisation era, participants are invited with the goal to consistently improve upon the efficiency, economy, adaptability,
reliability, safety and security of the best-in-class providers specialsing in:

Energy Security & Small Modular Reactors for The 3SI’s Critical Infrastructure & New Economy Emergency

Roundtable & Panel Discussion

Energy Security & Small Modular Reactors for The 3SI’s Critical Infrastructure & New Economy Emergency

  • New Partnerships in Innovation, Finance & Defence for The Three Seas Initiative in Central & Eastern Europe
  • New Projects (FOAK Market Ready) for Sovereignty, Systems & Supply Chain Opportunities
  • SMRs & CleanFirm solutions for Ai, Data Centres & Reindustrialisation
  • Facilitation & Cooperation across Existing and Embarking Nuclear States; On and Off Grid SMR Project Acceleration and Standardisation

As the war with Iran triggers an acute oil and gas crisis, Europe faces an impending energy emergency: surging prices, a steep demand gap, a deepening cost-of-living crisis, and accelerating deindustrialisation. Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs) offer the only scalable, firm, low-cost solution to restore energy security, enable reindustrialisation, power AI data centres, and support small and medium-sized businesses.

Their modular design, factory-built standardisation, and rapid deployment timelines deliver reliable, dispatchable power that complements renewables while slashing long-term costs. This creates an efficient economy with more evenly distributed wealth through affordable energy for industry and households alike. For the Three Seas Initiative, SMRs are critical infrastructure for the new economy emergency. First-of-a-kind (FOAK) market-ready projects open sovereignty, supply-chain, and systems opportunities. CleanFirm nuclear solutions will anchor AI data centres and reindustrialisation across Central and Eastern Europe.

The United States 🇺🇸, Canada 🇨🇦 and the UK 🇬🇧, leads in SMR technology and regulatory innovation. This 3SI special side event Roundtable & Panel discussion is focused on building on the decades long experience of their regulatory, technical national laboratories expertise, with the day’s goal being to bring about new projects by leveraging greater facilitation and cooperation between existing mature nuclear states and the politically motivated embarking ones.

In the region, Croatia, Estonia, and Poland (embarking nuclear states) join Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria. Bulgaria and other existing nuclear nations to accelerate on and off grid deployment by driving new projects through sharing new methods of technical fluency on standardisation, harmonisation, innovative business models, licensing and use of PPP/PFI instruments, shared between new “opt in” country collaborations and groupings working with the same vendors, that enable greater efficiencies, for investors to realise earlier returns and ratepayers to benefit from reduced energy costs quicker than the current renewables regimes allow.

“As Above, so Below”
SMR Deployment, Ai and its Security Architecture

At

Special Guest Speakers will be participating in person (“in person”) or via video conference (“VC link”)

11 am: Welcome and Opening Remarks

• David A. Wright, Commissioner, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission [Invited] & Danube Institute, Hungary [invited]

Talking Points:

– Role of 3SI (Officials countries in particular) for energy security & (missile) defence emergency in the 3SI; CEE highest priority – Eastern flank battlegroups, air/space policing, and hybrid threat response depend on space assets for situational awareness and on-the-ground technological dominance (GOVSATCOM; Sovereign secure SATCOM for governmental/military users (operational 2026); pools national critical assets for CEE lacking own capacity to protect critical infrastructure).

– IRIS – Secure connectivity constellation, enhances resilience for energy/digital infrastructure.

– Galileo (PNT) and Copernicus (EQ/ISR) – Space Shield (2026 + flagship) (EDA)

– How does SMR deployment planning fit into this “eastern flank” strategy for both civilian and military energy security and protection of these assets upon construction?

– Partnerships for “dual use” for monitoring energy assets, hybrid threats and big data processing for defence and approaches leveraging existing nuclear states to assist embarking nuclear states towards accelerated safe and resilient SMR deployment.

– Facilitation & cooperation across defence and the international nuclear community for existing and embarking nuclear states.
